Community :: Utility Lineman Schloarship

Each year Norris Public Power District offers a $1,500 Electric Lineman Training scholarship to a student who has been accepted into the Utility Line Program at Northeast Community College and who meets the following requirements:

  • Graduated High School within the past two years
  • Cumulative High School GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Upper 50% of the graduating class
  • Parents are customers of Norris Public Power District

In addition to meeting the application requirements, all scholarship finalists are interviewed in person by the Norris Public Power District Scholarship Committee prior to selecting a scholarship recipient.

Students who are considering a career as a lineman should apply for admission to Northeast Community College as soon as possible, as their Utility Line Program fills up quickly.

Northeast Community College handles the disbursement of the Norris Scholarship, which covers tuition only.
